Yes – Human Trafficking Happens Here in Idaho

Recently, I produced a 7 part series on Human Trafficking in Idaho.

Special thanks to Boise Police Detective Mike Marallio and Crime Prevention Supervisor Ed Fritz for helping me out. They were kind enough to provide me with the information I needed, and even came down to the radio station and answered some questions for me.

Honestly, I learned a lot. I had a feeling we would be talking primarily about Prostitution, and we did. I did not know our conversation would turn to the trafficking of people in agriculture and restaurants. I also had no clue about it being a rural America problem as well as big city issue.

If you have a few minutes, listen to the segments.

Also, you can call local police to report Human Trafficking, or call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.  You can also text them at: 233733.

Thanks!

Part 1:  It’s a problem we often don’t believe occurs here in Boise, but police will tell you different…  Human Trafficking is a growing problem in Boise.

Part 2:  Continuing our series on the growing problem of Human Trafficking in Boise and Idaho. It’s not just a Boise issue. In fact, it’s much more a rural problem in many cases.

Part 3:  One of the questions asked to Boise Police Detective Mike Marrillo is, just how bad is the problem?

Part 4:  Continuing our series on the growing problem of Human Trafficking in Boise and Idaho.  Today, we are focusing on the issue of Prostitution – and how it’s changed.

Part 5:  Continuing our series on the growing problem of Human Trafficking in Boise and Idaho.  In today’s segment, we will get a better look inside the life of someone who is being trafficked.

Part 6:  Continuing our series on the growing problem of Human Trafficking in Boise and Idaho. It’s hard to imagine, but many children are being trafficked, and it does and has happened in Boise.

Part 7:  In the final segment of our series on the growing problem of Human Trafficking in Boise and Idaho, we are talking about what might be the most difficult part for those who are in the life… It involves getting out.
