Best Coaching From Harsin Happened in October

11/2/17
In September, the Boise State Football team seemed to be uncomfortable in it’s own skin. At times, the team looked like Boise State is expected to look, and just as many times when the program was unrecognizable. There was the big lead that was washed away in the 4th quarter at Washington State. Also, an ugly loss for the Broncos at home to Virginia. Non impressive wins against Troy and New Mexico in front of the home crowd did little to help.

Thankfully – the madness of September was followed by a BYE week and a much needed break for the Broncos. The Bye also brought a much needed opportunity for Boise State coaches to self evaluate the program. From there, critical adjustments were made and followed by good wins against BYU, San Diego State, Wyoming and Utah State. The road is also now paved for a shot to play in the Mountain West Championship game.

October was a fantastic month for Boise State, and fans should give the credit to the guys on the field, but they should not overlook a magnificent coaching job by Brian Harsin and his staff. There are really two reasons Bronco Nation should offer an “Atta Boy” to coach Harsin and the gang.

1. They looked at themselves first and figured out how to fix “it” before it was too late.

and

2. Nobody (and I really mean nobody I have ever seen before) has found a way to win with a two quarterback system. It’s just not done, but the Broncos so far have pulled it off.
November will not easy for Boise State with games still to come against Air Force, and at Fresno State and Colorado State.
