The open enrollment period for Idahoans to secure health insurance begins November 1 and ends December 15.
Coverage through “Your Health Idaho” would start in January.
According to Boise Weekly, the 2017 enrollment period is about half as long as it was last year, and many people could benefit from a cost offset despite higher insurance rates.
The bad news is Idahoans who fail to sign up for coverage through “Your Health Idaho” or an employer, will face penalties up to $700 per person and $2000 for a family of four.
During last year’s enrollment period, nearly 106 thousand Idahoans signed up for healthcare coverage.
