Idaho Great, Wayne Walker Dies at 80

One of the best athletes to come ever come out of the state of Idaho, Wayne Walker has died.

The Idaho Statesman reports, Walker died of complications from Parkinsons disease in Boise on Friday. He was 80 years old.

Walker was a 1954 graduate of Boise High, played football at the University of Idaho, and was a fourth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 1958.

He played 15 seasons for the Lions as a linebacker and placekicker, playing in three Pro Bowls. His No. 53 is retired by Idaho.
