Restaurant group in Utah tells Idahoans not to vacation in the state

A restaurant group in Utah has a message for Idahoans, don’t vacation in the state.

As Utah plans to lower its maximum blood-alcohol limit to 0.05 in 2018, one of the lowest levels in the nation, the group wants to send a message to Idaho, don’t visit!.

The Idaho Statesman reports The American Beverage Institute took out a full page ad in the paper with the headline “Utah: Come for vacation, leave on probation,” adding quote “Time for Idahoans to rethink their vacation plans!”

The ad says that having just one drink with dinner “could possibly land you in jail,” and is meant to to put pressure on the Utah Legislature to reconsider the newly passed law in the special session late this summer.

Idaho sends more vacationers to Utah than any state except California.
