City of Nampa Sends Plows Into Residential Areas

Nampa Mayor Bob Henry has ordered the hiring of private contractors to help clear Nampa’s streets before another cold spell sets in.

Nampa Street Division Superintendent Don Barr is contacting private contractors to assist in removing the packed ice and snow while temperatures are in the 30s and 40s.

The effort is already underway.

Barr says plow/grader drivers will operate long shifts and through the weekend. It could take more than four days to get through the city.

Residents should move cars off the streets if possible so plows/graders can maneuver better as they work the residential areas.

City staff is paying close attention to flood risks. Preventative crews are being called in and dispatched throughout the weekend to assure that critical storm drain lines and catch basins are open.
