Idaho State Police to stop enforcing booze restriction law

Idaho State Police has now agreed to stop enforcing a law that bans alcohol from being served at live performances that contain nudity.

The Visual Arts Collective in Garden City was fined and had their liquor licence temporarily suspended in March by ISP, after undercover officers bought alcohol while watching a burlesque show.

Meridian Press reports the American Civil Liberties Union of Idaho sued state police and the case was settled less then two weeks in.

The agreement includes reimbursing the arts center for the $8,000 fine and clearing the alleged violation from its record.

A permanent injunction in the settlement will prohibit ISP from enforcing alcohol restriction at artistic and performance venues.
