670 KBOI continues to follow the case of Idaho’s Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who faces charges of desertion and endangering fellow soldiers.
He is set to return to a courtroom today for a pretrial hearing.
KBOI-2-TV reports the hearing may include a discussion of defense efforts to gain access to the correspondence of high-ranking military officials who were in positions of authority when Bergdahl’s disappearance unfolded. Prosecutors have argued the efforts are unwarranted.
His military trial is tentatively scheduled to start in early 2017.
