Sen. Rand Paul brings campaign to Boise State

It’s early in the 2016 presidential campaign, but the first candidate has already stopped in Idaho.  First District Congressman Raul Labrador introduced Rand Paul, who says he’s not taking Idaho’s votes for granted.

Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) introduced Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) at Boise State’s SUB Thursday morning

“Idaho is a Republican state, but it’s very important to win the primary,” Paul said.  “So campaigning out here is a big deal, and it also shows we’re not in it just to compete in the first couple of primaries, we want to be able to compete in all 50 primaries.”

The theme of his speech was the need to follow the entire Constitution, not just pick and choose which parts to support.  Paul said the state of Idaho would do a better job of managing public lands, and making decisions about managing wildfires, than Washington DC can.
